In this demo, we will learn how to prepare a soup from Josefina Veleazquez de León's book published in 1951.During the 1950s, the Mexican economy experienced significant growth, leading to more women entering the workforce.
However, this shift also added pressure on women balancing work and family duties, including cooking meals.
To assist newlywed women lacking culinary skills, Josefina authored a series of cookbooks titled "La Cocina de la Recién Casada."
One of the recipes from her book is sopa de chayote, the delicious soup that we will be making together.
