LA Biotech Hike
Welcome to the fourth LA Biotech Hike!
Join us for another exciting adventure with the LA Biotech Hiking Group as we explore the beautiful Sturtevant Falls in Sierra Madre.
Our monthly hikes across LA County are designed to foster informal connections and build deeper community relationships that go beyond the lab and boardroom. Whether you're new to biotech or a seasoned professional, you'll enjoy exploring new trails while engaging in casual conversations that inspire collaboration and innovation.
This hike gives people to select between two options:
1. Easy trail to Sturtevant Fall (Sturtevant Falls Trail: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/sturtevant-falls-trail)OR
2. Sturtevant Falls + Trail to Sturtevant Camp. (https://www.sturtevantcamp.com/)
Note – this hike requires an Adventure Pass, which can be purchased on-site [unique situation] or at REI prior to the hike. The pass is $5 for the day or $25 for the year. This is also a parking lot charge of $10.

Location: Sturtevant Falls
Additional Directions: The trailhead is easily accessible from the 210 freeway. Take the Santa Anita Avenue north until you reach the Chantry Flat parking area. We will meet at the start of the trailhead.

The Chantry Flat Road is open daily from 6:00 AM until 8:00 PM.

What to Bring:
- Sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses)
- Water and snacks
- Comfortable hiking shoes and hiking poles
- Dress in layers
What to Expect:
- Either a 3.3-mile hike with moderate difficulty taking approximately 2 hours to complete OR a 11-mile hike with moderate difficulty taking approximately 5 hours to complete
Important Notes:
- Dogs are welcomed on this trail.
- Requires an Adventure Pass ($5 for the day or $25 for the year) can be purchased onsite or at REI prior to hike
- Parking lot charge $10
- We'll meet at the trailhead at 8:50 AM. Look for the LA Biotech Hiking Group sign or call Alexandra Sesi at 310-890-2163.
- Remember our golden rule: Leave No Trace. Pack out all trash and help preserve the beauty of the trail.
