S-190, Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior
Date: 4/14/2025 (7 hour instructor-led course)

Course Description: This is the first and foundational wildland fire behavior course in a five-course sequence in the NWCG curriculum. It introduces students to the basic concepts of wildland fire behavior, including:

· The primary wildland fire environment components: fuels, weather, and topography.

· How characteristics and interactions of fuels, weather, and topography affect fire behavior.

· How fire behavior affects risk to firefighters.

S-130, Firefighter Training
Date: 4/15/2025 - 4/18/2025 (29 hour instructor-led course)
Time: 0800 - 1700, Tuesday – Thursday, 0800 - 1200, Friday

Course Description: The intent of this course is to train new firefighters in basic firefighting skills. This includes a required field exercise that may be arduous in nature. S-190, Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior is a prerequisite and must have been successfully completed prior to taking the S-130, Firefighter Training course.


L-180, Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service
Date: 4/18/2025 (4 hour instructor-led course)
Time: 1300 - 1700

Course Description: This training course is designed for unit-level supervisors to use when delivering orientation training to new crew members. Presentation of the course involves a few short lecture segments, but the primary content is delivered by video and supported with small group exercises. Topics include situational awareness, basic communication responsibilities, attitude and stress barriers, decision-making process, and teamwork principles.

Cost: is $75.00 per class for Wyoming based students or $100.00 for students based outside Wyoming.

The fee may be paid: At the door, by mail, or by phone. Payment is required in order to release student certificate of completion.
