The four saints represented here are a continuation of a body of work I have been producing over the past year.
I have long been intrigued by women who are courageous about and deeply dedicated to their faith journey.
These four women saints lived in times when women were not valued for their gender but yet, in spite of preconceptions, each gained great respect in their communities and in church history.
Some became accomplished leaders, musicians, artists, philosophers, writers, skilled herbal healers which, consequently, gained them followers and recognition by the Vatican.
Each of these wise women have taught me “L’imitation” does not mean having “Limitations” because of our gender or circumstances, but rather when we focus on our Lord’s example throughout our lives we can strive to become “L’imitations” of Christ.
