An update from our Chair: Notice of Special General Meeting Big shifts, the same strong Chamber!
Over the past 12 months, we’ve repositioned our brand, launched new digital touch points, and refined our approach to membership manaakitanga, networking, learning and development, and advocacy—ensuring we remain agile, connected to the community, and responsive when needed.
As part of our next chapter of evolution, I have accepted the resignation of our General Manager, Claire Mance. We are grateful for her leadership and are pleased to welcome her onto our Board to continue guiding our strategic key partnerships at a governance level.
This restructure helps us establish a new operational structure and a refreshed Board framework—reserving more of our funds for activities on the ground with our members.
As part of these changes, we will hold a Special General Meeting (SGM) on Wednesday, 16 April 2025, from 5 p.m. to support this transition. (Our SGM will start at 5.30pm).
This SGM has been triggered by Bede Laracy stepping down as Deputy Chair after five years of dedicated service to the Chamber. Bede will continue to support our mahi around the Board table as a trusted Board Advisor. I want to thank Bede for his enormous contribution in his role as Deputy Chair.
This Special AGM will focus on filling the vacant Deputy Chair and Secretary positions. We are very pleased to have received an expression of interest from our current elected Secretary, Jess Deacon, to step into the Deputy Chair role. However, as part of our fair and transparent nomination process, we formally call for nominations for both positions.
