!!!Back by popular demand!!!Much like how Cyril Radcliffe was given just weeks to draw the bloody borders between India and Pakistan, we’ve pulled something urgent of our own—KALI RISING returns.
On 15th August, as the Indian subcontinent marks 78 years since the end of British colonial rule, we gather at Uus Laine for the second edition of this ritual club night—curated by Tushar Prakash, featuring an opening set by Don Erikson from 9:00 PM to 11:30 PM, followed by Tushar Prakash taking over the decks.
This night is not just about India—but also other cultures across the Global South that have broken the chains of colonialism and now remix their histories on the dancefloor.
From vintage Bollywood disco to tribal techno, Tamil synthwave to Afro house, Balochi beats to Bengali basslines—expect a high-voltage sonic ritual pulsing with heat, heritage, and havoc. A celebration of resistance and rhythm from across the decolonized world.
As a bonus: outside, at 11:00 PM, we’ll screen the iconic Indian sci-fi cult film Mr. India, where an invisible common man fights corruption and capitalist greed with heart, humor, and a touch of magic. A superhero story without capes.
Independence was messy. So is this dance floor.
Come decolonize it with us.
15th of August, 9 PM – Uus Laine.
Free before 11PM, after 10€ and 5€ if in costume.
