Explore KZN’s Very Own Table Mountain – A Rare Opportunity!Most of us are familiar with its iconic silhouette on Pietermaritzburg’s skyline, but few have had the chance to get up close and personal with KZN’s Table Mountain.
This extraordinary mountain, steeped in local folklore with tales of giant snakes and cannibals, has served as a refuge and sacred place throughout history. Now, for a limited time, you have the chance to hike and experience this magical place for yourself!
Details of the Hike:
Meeting Point: Hayfields Quick Spar at 7:30 AM. Convoy to the starting point. (Self-driving to the starting point is not recommended!)
Hike Distance: ±13km (4–5 hours, including breaks).
Grading:
Casual Hikers: Grade 2.5
Regular Hikers: Grade 2
Elevation: ±200–250m
Cost:
R399pp (includes local guide, permission, safe parking, pick-up/drop-off at the mountain base, and a freshly made wors roll/braai at a local homestead).
R699pp (includes transport from Durban).
Bookings:
All bookings must be made through Quicket. No entries will be accepted on the day!
What to Bring:
Shoes with good grip (hiking boots or takkies – NO flat shoes allowed!)
Snacks, water or cold drinks, and a backpack.
A cap is essential – this hike is entirely in the open!
Important Notes:
If canceled due to bad weather, the event will be rescheduled, and a new date will be provided.
A minimum of 10 confirmed bookings is required for the event to proceed. If the quota is not met, the event will be canceled, and refunds will be processed.
Special Request:
Please bring any unwanted toys or children’s clothing to donate to local kids in need. Your generosity will make a big difference!
