Broward County's (AARLCC), 2650 Sistrunk Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311, is hosting its annual from 11AM-4PM, December 28, 2024. This free, all-ages, family event features dance, drumming, live music, theatrical performances, spoken word, storytelling, book discussions and arts and crafts.
Kwanzaa is an annual celebration of African American culture honoring harvests, cultural abundance and creativity. it takes place from December 26 to January 1 and is based on African harvest festival traditions. The holiday celebrates the seven principles of Kwanzaa, which include Ujima, collective work and responsibility.
"Kwanzaa Ujima 2024 is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Broward County's rich African American heritage and strengthen our community bonds," says Broward County Library Director Allison Grubbs. "It's a reminder of the power of unity and the importance of working together to build a better future for our community."
AARLCC's Kwanzaa Ujima 2024 Celebration is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the African American Research Library and Cultural Center.
