Join us in an immersive multi sensory poetry making experience wherein original poems, written by world renowned poets, have been reimagined and physicalized for audiences of all ages to call on their inner-child and play!
The Poetry Making Playground fuses poetics, tangible objects, illustration, fabrications/design, multimedia, life size interactive and reflective installations for everyone!
It will include more than 8 interactive works inviting everyone to tap into their radical imagination and engage your ancestral geometries, sacred syllable inheritance, metaphysical joys, genetic word wisdoms and righteous rhymes.
The distinguished line-up of poets presenting at this year's Poetry Making Playground include:
avery r. young, liza garza, ayesha riaz, Vania Luna, Lala Bolander, Sejahari, Sonjanita Moore, and E'mon Lauren.
At the space you can expect ongoing community engagement including artist led workshops, accessible activities including an audio guided tour, online exhibit & archive, open stages, guest performances, readings, game nights, meditiations, movement classes & more. Free street parking is available and the entrance is located on the corner of Harrison and California.
