Octo Events is proud to present a pide workshop with Chef Elif Golgeli.Come and join our event at Markthalle to learn the secrets of crafting authentic Kurdish / Turkish pide with a distinguished chef who held a permanent spot at the heart of Markthalle (Nane Sele) before retiring. For several years, this culinary maestro has delighted the masses with mouthwatering Turkish pide creations, and now you have the exclusive opportunity to learn from the best!
As a chef specialising in Turkish and Kurdish cuisine, to kick off the start of a series of Turkish cuisine workshops, chef will start with her pide specialities- meat and vegetarian (spinach & cheese).
What to expect from the pide workshop is as follows:
Welcome drink and introductions
Workshop – Learn how to make pide from scratch
Lunch offered by Chef Elif Golgeli (pide, salad, turkısh yoghurt drink and other non-alcoholic drink)
Take home your pide to share with friends and family
Ticket information: The ticket price for one person 100 CHF. However, if you purchase a pair of tickets, the price is 190 CHF for two, offering you a discount for attending the workshop together with a friend or loved ones.
All materials included, no prior experience required.
Language: Chef Elif Golgeli will conduct the workshop in German, and a translator will be available to provide English translations of the instructions, ensuring that all participants can fully engage and learn from the experience.
About the Chef: Elif Golgeli and her family are from eastern Turkey and has been residing in Switzerland for more than 45 years. Being part of a big family chef loves to cook and bake for everyone, she always welcomes her guests warmly and feeds them as her family member.
She prepares every ingredient with love and creates from scratch her special homemade salsa, tomato sauce, yoghurt and even cheese, all essential ingredients in making a delicious pide or lahmacun. Now that she has retired from the Markthalle stand, she occasionally cooks for festivals such as the Cross Fit competition and now exclusively for Octo Events workshops.
