Five Rodney Local Board members are attending next Sunday's public meeting at Huapai District School.
Phelan Pirrie,
Vicki Kenny,
Brent Bailey,
Danielle Hancock
Beth Houlbrooke
will each give updates on the current work they are involved with and answer our questions.
Greg Sayers will also be in attendance.
Questions that will likely come up are:
How Auckland Council is structured in terms of Councillors, CCOs, Boards as it is a relatively complex structure that many in the community won't know.
A deeper look at what the Local Board is responsible for and the roles that Board members have.
How does the relationship between the Board and the Rodney Councillor work.
How the Board sets its priorities for minor improvements like for example, footpaths.
Transport update- A quick update on SH 16-Stage 1 and 2, Station Rd intersection, Bypass, Park and Ride etc.
What are the present public transport options for Kumeu-Huapai-Riverhead-Waimauku. Timings of the services.
What is the Board advocating for in terms of transport options for the future.
What is happening with the indoor courts?
Timing of the release of land for further housing developments. Timing of Structure plan for Kumeu.
Given the timing of the meeting, there may be some reporting possible of the budgets or results of other council feedback that has been sought.
Given the lack of Auckland Council funding for the level of infrastructure needed in the NW, what are some possible solutions?
How does the Local Board balance provision for the infrastructure needs across our different communities to ensure there is equity and attention to growth?
Most of the Local Board representatives for this area are not well known, what ways does the Local Board see to improve communications and relations with the community to address this?
Given the knowledge that the future bypass won't solve traffic congestion, what plans are being developed now, to address gridlock?
What advocacy and engagement - if any, is occurring regarding the Fletcher Residential land purchases for development?
How does the Board intend to deliver the unspent portion of the Rodney Targeted Rate? Most of the expenditure has been on bus services ($3.8 million) followed by park and ride investigations ($901,521), bus stops ($399,737) and footpaths ($12,641)?
A further $5million is earmarked for Warkworth's Park and Ride.
