Join us for the annual KU Powwow & Indigenous Cultures Festival presented in partnership with KU's Office of Sovereign Partnerships and Indigenous Initiatives. This FREE, family-friendly event welcomes the KU, Lawrence and surrounding communities to participate, share experiences, make connections and learn more about the traditions, cultures, history and contemporary topics relating to the Indigenous peoples of North America. The day's events include the powwow and a full schedule of interactive experiences, educational workshops and children's activities focused on Indigenous cultures and history (indoor and outdoor activities). The powwow will take place on the KU Powwow Grounds outside of the Lied Center.
Attendees are encouraged to bring cash to purchase items from vendors and lawn chairs for enjoying the powwow.
