KTeam Hunt for the Winter Demon Players must bring either one Elite KTeam member or two non elite KTeam members, painted in a festive fashion, and armed with snow balls. Players will be co-operating as a team to bring down the Winter Demon!
Any and all KTeam rules may be used additionally, or in tandem, upon review, if it does not involve ranged weapon profiles or melee attacks.
Winter Demon APL 3 Move 8” SV 3+ Wounds 25
Giant Snow Balls Attack 4 Hit 4+ DMG 5/7
Winter Breath Attack 5 Hit 2+ DMG 1/2 Range 8” Rending, Lethal 5+
Hibernate Regeration: this operative recovers D3 wounds a turn.
Freezing Rigor: Any operatives that take damage must subtract one from their movement value. Any operatives reduced below half their wounds must also reduce their APL by one, and worsen their ballistic skill by one.
Ethereal Flurry: The Snow Demon starts off the battle field. Starting in turning point one, before the operatives turn, roll a dice. On a 3+ the Winter Demon does appear! Roll a scatter dice and 3D6 to determine location. If the scatter takes it into base contact with terrain, or an operative, or the edge of the board, place the Snow Demon 2 inches away from where it would best fit according to the direction of scatter.
The Snow Demon cannot make charges, and will target the closest operative, or operatives with its shooting attacks.
From turning point 2 onwards, roll a D6: on 1-3 the winter Demon moves towards and targets the closest operative, or operatives. On a 4-5 the Winter Demon scatters using the same rules used during the first turning point, using its max movement value. On the roll of a six, the Winter Demon remains stationary, but will get to make attacks against every eligible target.
Mission Specific Rules:
Ranged Attacks can only be conducted when in contact with a snow ball base. After shooting attacks are completed, tole a D6. On a role of a 4+ the snow base remains and can be reused. On a roll of a 1-3 the base is removed from play. If a roll of a 6 is made, and snow piles have been removed from play, add one to the field scattering 2D6 from the center of the board.
Snow Ball Stash (1APL)
An operative can stash up to 3 snow ball bases. For each snow ball base stashed, subtract 1 from its movement value. A snow ball stash can be deployed using a free action during the operative’s activation.
Make it a Snow Angel! (APL 1)
An operative can charge the Winter Demon using the rules for charging, but does not make melee attacks. Instead, subtract D3 from both the Winter Demons wounds and move characteristics or move rolls. The operative in turn must immediately suffer attacks from the Winter Demon’s Winter breath!
Mission Specific Wargear
Operatives can choose one item of wargear from the list below:
Canteen of Hot Cocoa: the operative can ignore any effects of Freezing Rigor.
Something Stronger: when using the action, “Make it a Snow Angel,” this operative cannot be targeted by the Winter Breath.
Brought Layers: subtract one from the operative’s movement value. If the operative is downed by the Winter Demon, roll 1D6, on a 4+ the operative recovers D6 wounds.
In the event that a co-op team has half or less than a KTeam’s rough starting strength, they gain access to these abilities or wargear:
Silent Night: the operative gains the Silent keyword on its snow ball attacks.
Jingle Bell: the operative can throw an exploding jingle bell using the Krak Grenade profile, in addition to its snow ball attacks, twice per game. After doing so, the operative will not targetable by the Winter Demon for a turning point.
Rest Ye Operatives: the operative can spend 1 APL to regain D6 lost wounds.
The Last Noel: the operative can re-roll all hit rolls and can double its number of attacks if the Winter Demon is below starting strength.
