ABOUT KRUMP
Have you ever heard of Krump dance?
Maybe you’ve seen the film RIZE, a popular documentary on clowning and the birth of Krump dance.
Krump (Kingdom Radically Uplifted Mighty Praise) is an energetic and expressive street dance style that emerged in the early 2000s in South Central Los Angeles. Characterized by its aggressive movements, exaggerated gestures, and rapid-paced motions, Krump embodies a raw, intense form of self-expression. The dance often includes chest pops, stomps, arm swings, and jabs, and it is performed in freestyle sessions or battles. Krump is not just about movement; it’s a powerful emotional release, often used to convey personal stories and struggles. It has grown from a local phenomenon to a global movement, influencing various aspects of contemporary dance and culture.
Krump quickly spread throughout different parts of the world and by 2008 shift fam was born and through this lineage is where the style of krump that will be shared in this workshop originates from.
Are you ready to tap into a dance form that is raw, intense, and liberating? Our Krump Dance Workshop is the perfect opportunity to explore this dynamic street style and discover the transformative power of movement.
