Kristen has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She has practiced in the styles of tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, and pointe. In college, she found partner dancing. She started in lindy hop and then found her way to west coast swing in 2009.
Kristen currently competes at All-Stars level, and has performed/competed in several routines including pro-am, rising star and teams.
Kristen’s primary dance role is following, but she also is an amazing lead and switch dancer. She teaches both lead and follow sides in her workshops and also offers private lessons in both roles. (There will be a limited number of private lessons offered while she is here, please DM Allison Brown for information)
Planned Schedule
2:30 - 3:30pm Float! - Learn how to communicate with your partner using connection, visual cues and body language.
3:45 - 4:45pm Mirrors! - Learn how to use mirroring techniques to make your dancing look more cohesive as a partnership and to be able to make creative suggestions
5:00 - 6:00pm The In-Between! - Learn how to utilize the space between the beats for acceleration and deceleration.
Dinner Break 6:00 - 8:00pm
8:00 - 9:00pm Mad Hatter! - Moves that feel Topsy Turvy - Open Level WCS Workshop
9:00 - 12:00am Social in KristenLand!- Put all your moves on the floor! Social Dance pricing will be $10.00. Entry is included in the full day pass. Please be advised, there will be no entry until the final workshop has completed.
