Kristallnacht, A Night for Remembrance, is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 9th, 2025, from 3pm to 4:30pm at First Presbyterian Church of Manitowoc. This afternoon of education and remembrance, is being held on the 87th anniversary of Kristallnacht, known as “The Night of Broken Glass,” in which German militias were given official authorization to enter Jewish neighborhoods throughout the nation and destroy businesses, homes and property belonging to Jewish individuals. Discussions will cover the political status of pre-WWII Germany and how they led up to sanctioned national violence and terror, how those conditions contrast with our current national policies, and the input and impact of religious groups in both circumstances. Speakers slated to appear are Dr. Kerry Trask, Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Wisconsin, Manitowoc, Rev. Dr. Matt Sauer, Pastor, Manitowoc Cooperative Ministries, and Sheryle L Lyman. The event will take place in the ground-level Community Hall of First Presbyterian Church, at 502 N 8th Street, Manitowoc. Please enter through the 8th Street Doors
