The magic of the holiday season will come to life when we visit theaward-winning 10th Annual Kriskindlmarkt in Sparta. This is a traditional outdoor market in the downtown area with over 70 vendors. Smells of roasted nuts, brats, pretzels, and other German foods will fill the air along with live entertainment to add to your shopping experience. Enjoy dinner on your own at any Chalet Christmas hut which offers a wide variety of authentic foods or at one of the many restaurants downtown.
We will then head to the Best Western Hotel in Sparta for a good night’s sleep. There is a heated pool, so bring your swimsuit. The hotel offers a hot breakfast and then at 9:00am, we will board the bus and tour Sparta. Our very own Chloe Hansen-Dunn, Menasha Senior Center Manager, will give us a tour of her hometown! A few places of interest are the Space and Bicycle Museum, the world’s largest bicycle, the site of the Wisconsin State Child Center and a few surprise places of interest along the way!
Time permitting, we will head back to the Kriskindlmarkt for a short time and then head to the Sparta Family Restaurant to order off the menu. We will give you $10 toward your lunch. Then we head back home ready for the Holidays.
