
This Independence Day, celebrate the spirit of Indian agriculture, brought to life through the country’s vibrant folk traditions by ace director Prashant H. Bhafalekar.
From the sowing of seeds to the joy of harvest, this dance recital pays homage to the rhythms of rural life through the rich vocabulary of Indian folk traditions. Conceptualized and directed by Prashant H. Bhafalekar, an expert in India’s folk forms with nearly three decades of experience, the performance features spirited renditions of Ponung, Baradi Nati, Bihu, Raibenshe, and Santhal.
Featuring award-winning student performers from Mumbai University colleges, this dynamic showcase captures the culture, rituals, and celebrations of the agrarian cycle. Staged by Nagbadevi Kala Manch, it is a heartfelt tribute to tradition – an experience not to be missed.
