About The Yoga

KRI-T-Yoga: Is a Kundalini Yoga fusion class that utilizes teachings and class flow models from Kundalini Yoga, as Taught by Yogi Bhajan, with occasionall games and theory of Theatre of the Oppressed incorporated into the classes especially workshops. All students are encouraged to embrace themselves as they are, as they have been, and as they become. More specifically, Kundalini Yoga, is a yogic science of releasing the “kundalini” energy of awareness coiled at the base of the spine—unlocking the trueness of your own spirit and identity that already resides with you. Each class utilizes mantra (sound, chant, and rhythm), kriyas (posture sequences), and meditation mixed with pranayams (breath-work) to release this energy and align your spirit, mind, and body.

KRI-T-Yoga is committed to offering Inclusive, Affordable, and Accessible yoga for EVERYONE with each of the following priority communities in the Greensboro area and beyond;

4. Queer People of Gboro
5. Low-income and atypical communities (communities not generally known to access and participate in Yoga)
6. Greater NC Community at Large

This space welcomes everyone of all body relationship levels and all body shapes. You should expect to be welcomed, appreciated, and encouraged to build your own sangaat (yogic community) with each and every class. Occasional, vegetarian and vegan treats will be provided at the close of class to facilitate community and connection over breaking "bread."

**Priority means the classes are designed with the stressors of the priority folks in mind, which often apply to many if not all groups of people**

About The Instructor

Elijah Brunson, Spiritual Name Teg Ravidass Singh, is a Queer, Black Yogi, and a recovering non-profit executive who has leaned into rest, mindfulness, and joy as therepeautic mediums for healing and building community. He also incorporates his experience as a Theater of the Oppressed practitioner into his various other practices supporting mindful living. Elijah serves SAFE yoga community as a Kundalini Yogi and continues to offer Transitions Coaching to the broader community with a particular focus on supporting Black Queer Peoples and all people wanting better ways of being in community with the planet and each other.
