Be a part of the fight against breast cancer while enjoying a feast for the senses. Join Krewe de Pink for their fifth annual Death by Chocolate…NOT Breast Cancer fundraiser to honor this year’s Sweet Survivors.
Krewe de Pink has created a chocolate tasting with champagne event like no other. Tasty chocolate bites —both sweet and savory— will be crafted with chocolate donated by Callebaut Chocolate, home of the finest Belgian chocolate.
At this 21 and older event, guests will enjoy the scrumptious chocolate creations* with bubbly*. Live music will be performed by the local favorite Jake Francis Jazz Combo. There will be raffles, a silent auction and a fabulous photo station will be available for guests to capture the moment.
The event is a live competition. Each dish will be judged by guests and our judges on their chocolate-inspired dishes with 1st and 2nd Place in both the People’s Choice and Judges Choice Awards for both categories.
VIP ticket holders will enjoy exclusive access to the event with a 5:30 pm entry time to mingle with the local chefs and our newest Sweet Survivors and receive special takeaways. The general admission entry time is at 6:30 pm. Tickets are limited. (Cannot make the event but want to support breast cancer research? Consider a donation in honor of a loved one.)
The event will be held at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home. The exquisite features of this New Orleans landmark including the unique architecture, fine furnishings, spectacular chandeliers & fireplace mantels, and beautiful gardens provide an elegant setting for this fun, exciting and decadent event.
Those who attend are in for a unique and memorable experience full of wonderful sights, scents, sounds and tastes all while supporting breast cancer research at the Tulane Cancer Center.
* For those with food allergies, each dish is designated with common allergens. A list of ingredients is available upon request.
** Non-alcoholic beverages (sparkling & still water and coffee) are available.
What to Expect
Each guest will be greeted with a flute of their preferred beverage (save your glass for refills) and enjoy some time to mingle before the main event. Upon entering the event guests will be handed a special plate to hold their flute and chocolate. Guests will then move to each station and be served a sample of the chocolate creation. There will be live music, raffles and a photo station for guests to enjoy. When done tasting, guests are asked to vote for their favorite sweet and savory dishes for the People's Choice Award.
We ask that guests recycle their flutes and plates. Instructions can be found on the back of the menu or at a recycling stations.
Attire
The attire is Festive Cocktail. Feel free to wear wigs, boas or whatever helps you feel festive. Wearing Pink is a plus!
Tickets
General admission is $60 per person in advance and $75 day of event with a 6:30 pm entry. VIP tickets are $100 per person in advance and $125 day of the evenet with a 5:30 pm entry.

Parking / Directions
Free secure parking is available in the lots behind the mansion, in the across the street (Iberville), under the building next to the mansion (3801 Canal Street) and throughout the neighborhood. Parking attendants wearing pink hats will be able to direct you to the closest spot. A map of parking is below.
The Schoen Mansion is conveniently located at 3827 Canal Street in Mid-City with easy access from the interstate and street car line.
Heading to Carrollton from I-10 West:
Get off at the Carrollton Exit and go to the Tulane Ave exit. Go to Canal Street, take a right and then a left at N. Scott Street.
Heading to Carrollton from I-10 East:
Get off at the Carrollton Exit. Continue past Costco, over the bridge and take a left at Washington Ave. Take a left at Carrollton Ave. Go to Canal Street, take a right and then a left at N. Scott Street.
