About this Event
Opening this week: Soho Photo Gallery's Annual Krappy Kamera Competition Exhibition! What is a 'krappy kamera'?? That means a camera with a plastic lens, like a toy camera, or no lens at all, like a pinhole camera. Soho Photo Gallery has been a pioneer in promoting the work of photographic artists who utilize these types of low-tech (or no-tech) cameras to create remarkable imagery. This show will feature the work of over 56 photographers, whose images were chosen as the winners of this year's competition by curator Ann Jastrab. The exhibition runs March 5 - 23.
🎯 Opening reception, Thursday, March 6, 6-8PM.
🔵 The image pictured here was created by Armen Dolukhanyan with a homemade pinhole camera.
🔴 And please note: This exhibition will be the very last exhibition Soho Photo Gallery will be holding at our legendary Tribeca location. After 45 years there, in April we move to West 23rd Street, in Chelsea. Stay tuned for more about that!
