UT Korean Culture Club cordially invites you to a folk painting workshop from the Joseon Dynasty of Korea.
In a nutshell, this workshop focuses on Shin Saimdang's painting of grass and insects, namely, Chochung-do 초충도, presented on the folding screens of her own room.
Shin Saimdang is a female artist, whose face graces today's Korean 50,000 won bill and whose biography as an artist was featured in the TV series, titled Saimdang, Light's Diary.
For this workshop, a must-know about Minwha will come to you with lecture and drawing guidance.
Not only that, you can choose one from Shin Saimdang's coloring book from Korea and a water color pencil will be provided for coloring.
Of course, if you bring your own coloring tools, it will help you complete your own unique artwork!
Surely, you will be able to meet both theory and practice of Korean traditional art through this workshop!

Lecturer: Eke Pernik
Moderator: Salme Vesingi, Martha Teesaar
