This is the uncompromising sonic partnership of drummer Tomas Järmyr (slowshift, previously of Motorpsycho and Zu) and tubaist Kristoffer Lo (slowshift, Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, previously of Highasakite). Together, they create vast, immersive soundscapes that blur the boundaries between ambient, drone, free improvisation and post-rock.
Formed in Trondheim in 2009, Yodok is a duo driven by instinct, space, and sonic patience. Their music unfolds like a slow-burning ritual—built on the organic pulse of Järmyr’s dynamic, often thunderous drums, and the monumental textures of Lo’s heavily amplified and processed horns. Each performance is a singular experience: fully improvised, always rooted in deep listening and complete trust.
Whether rising to cataclysmic crescendos or dissolving into meditative stillness, Yodok’s music is a journey: challenging, cathartic, and wholly unique.
