John Law er et prisvindende geni på klaver, der i løbet er årene er gået fra klassiske musik studier, for at forfølge sin drøm om at spille jazz og improvisationsmusik. Han har været involveret og hyldet i en bred vifte af moderne jazz og klassiske projekter. Alt fra soloprojekter og albums, til turné med trioer and kvartetter.
Han har spillet til over 50 festivaler, internationalt, såsom North Sea Jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival og Dehli International Jazz Festival. Han har derudover spillet i koncert haller og klubber rundt i hele England, Europa og Nord Amerika.
Han har indspillet over 40 albums, med blandt andet Tim Garland, Andy Sheppard og Evan Parker, men hans hovedprojekt er hans hyldede kvartet ”Congregation”. Her spiller de Johns originale musik, hvori de blander akustisk og elektronisk musik.
John var i 2020 givet den prestigefulde pris ” Paul Hamlyn Foundation Awardfor Artists”. Han fik også en ”Arts Council touring award” i både 2020 og 2021 for to forskellige bands

John Law is a prize-winning classical prodigy on piano, turned away fromclassical piano studies to pursue jazz and improvised music when he was 23. He has been involved in, and acclaimed for, a wide variety of contemporary jazz and classical projects: fromsolo piano concerts and albums, through trio and quartet tours and recordings, right through to large scale works for hissemi-classical ensemble Cornucopia. He has played at over fifty festivals worldwide, including North Sea Jazz Festival (Rotterdam), Delhi International Jazz Festival and London Jazz Festival at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, and in clubs and concert halls all over the UK, mainland Europe and North America. Beyond, working with musicians asdiverse as Gwilym Simcock, Andy Sheppard, Jason Rebello, Tim Garland and Evan Parker.
He has recorded over forty albums. John’s main project is currently are his acclaimed quartet "Congregation", featuring Mercury Prize nominee James Mainwaring and playing John’s original music, bringing together acoustic and electronic music. His all-acoustic quartet "Re-Creations", featuring Parliamentary Jazz Award winner Sam Crockatt, playing versions of tunes from jazz/pop/classical and "Renaissance", an ambient, electronic keyboards project with saxophonist Jon Lloyd and visualartist from TangerineDream, Patrick Dunn, playing improvised music over samples created out of sacred vocal music from the 15th and 16th centuries.In 2020 John Law was awarded a prestigious Paul Hamlyn Foundation Awardfor Artists. In 2020 he was awarded an Arts Council touring award to tour his "Congregation" project and in 2021 a further Arts Council touring award to tour "Renaissance"
