Fermented food/drinks are great for gut health and cheaper to make yourself, so a great new hobby to get healthier, save money and waste!
About this Event

Are you interested in fermentation and not sure where to start?! Fermented drinks are so incredibly great for gut health and so much cheaper to make yourself, a great new hobby to start the New Year off right!

What is Kombucha you ask? Thought to have originated in China more than 2000 years ago, it is a fermented sweet tea, simply made with tea of choice, sugar and natural flavourings if desired. The fermentation process if done right, allows the good bacteria that our gut needs to thrive, so when when consumed it replenishes these bacteria helping to keep your gut healthy, which in turn can really help your overall health. Like those pro-biotics in the supermarket, but way better, and cheaper!

During this workshop we will go through the basics of how fermentation works and why that makes it so good for you. We will walk you through making kombucha, tips and tricks for successful brewing and flavouring, and also a ginger bug (for making ginger beer or a variety of other home made sparkling soft drinks!). You will get to try a variety of samples made with different teas and natural flavours, and you will get a kombucha starter kit to take home and have a go at making it yourself!
