About this Event

OverviewA Creative Arts Experience rooted in poetry & creative arts.

Koma, Loba (Speak & Write) is more than a workshop it’s a cultural and creative experience designed to awaken your voice, spark healing, and fuel leadership.

“Koma” (to write) and “Loba” (to speak) come from Lingala, a widely spoken language in the Democratic Republic of Congo. These words are also central to Luba culture, where oral traditions and memory tools like the Lukasa boardpreserved history, identity, and ancestral knowledge.

In this tradition:

  • To speak is to declare, connect, and own your truth.
  • To write is to preserve, reflect, and rise.

Rooted in these traditions and expanded through poetry and creative arts, this gathering invites you to explore the power of words as tools for business growth, personal transformation, and community empowerment.

Hosted in collaboration with the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Arts & Culture, this event creates a welcoming space for writers, entrepreneurs, artists, professionals, and community members to come together and learn through art.
