About this Event
Bring a small plant to make into your very own kokedama moss ball.
All you need is a small plant or cuttings from a plant. We will supply the soil, moss, and string to transform your plant into a work of art.
Foster a connection to the natural world through the meditative and spiritual artistic practice of kokedama. Hang your kokedama in a window to remind you of the peaceful tranquility of nature.
Please bring your own plant or buy one from Katsura Gardens in the Japantown West Mall. Plants should be small, just a few inches tall. Many types of plants work well for kokedama:
- Succulents such as aloe, string-of-beads, Christmas cactus, donkey’s tail, sedums
- Vines such as pothos, ivy, creeping fig
- Ferns, philodendron, African violet, begonia, etc.
We will have a limited number of plant cuttings available for use as well.
We will offer three one-hour sessions so that each group can have a small, initimate experience.
Cost: $20-$40 suggested donation (all proceeds support GenRyu Arts nonprofit)
