Presented by the Wagner International Student Society (WISS) and the Asian Women Development Plan International (AWDPI). WISS is partnering with Asian Women Development Plan International (AWDPI) for a timely and important conversation on domestic violence and the unique challenges faced by international students and immigrant communities in the United States. This event will explore the realities of domestic violence through a cross-cultural lens — debunking common myths and misconceptions, examining the current landscape in the U.S., and sharing practical “Know Your Rights” information that every international student should be aware of.
Drawing from AWDPI's extensive fieldwork and advocacy, the discussion will highlight how cultural, linguistic, and systemic barriers can often prevent survivors from seeking help — and will spotlight the resources, legal protections, and support networks available to those in need. All interested Wagner and NYU students are welcome to attend. Please RSVP in advance, as space is limited.
