About this Event

Do you rent privately in Southwark (South East London) from a landlord or an estate agent? Are you facing increasing rents? Is your landlord trying to evict you?
Do you want to find out about your rights and what your landlord’s responsibilities are?
Citizen’s Advice Southwark is inviting private renters in Southwark to join in for a free 'Know Your Housing Rights' session on Thursday 28 March. The session will be hosted by a housing expert from Southwark Law Centre and will last approximately one hour and a half, including an audience Q&A.
The aim of the session is to empower private tenants to understand their housing rights, know what to do in different scenarios and find out more about their landlord’s repairing responsibilities.
Please note that the event is aimed at tenants who rent privately in Southwark, meaning that the advice will not be suitable for anyone who rents their property from their council or housing association and may not be applicable to anyone who rents in another area.

Southwark Law Centre is a leading law firm based in South East London. Their solicitors specialise in various areas of law, including housing and property disputes, advising tenants and forcing landlords to comply with their legal obligations.

To keep our community safe, we ask that all visitors do not visit the Centre if they are feeling unwell including headache, fever, sore throat, consistent cough, chills and unusual spots, scabs or ulcers.

You can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. We also have masks and hand sanitiser available at the Centre.
