Help young people understand different types of abuse, early warning signs, and develop strategies to to respond safely.
About this Event

Know it, Name it is a 2-hour interactive workshop designed to help neurodivergent young people 12–15 (socially, developmentally, and/or intellectually) recognise healthy and unhealthy boundaries, understand the different types of abuse, and develop practical strategies to respond safely in friendships, dating, and online interactions.

Participants will explore:

  • How to notice what it feels like when something isn’t right
  • Different types of abuse (physical, emotional, sexual, digital, coercive)
  • Body language, non-verbal cues, and emotional responses
  • Strategies for saying no, stopping, slowing down, and asking for clarification
  • How to reach out to trusted adults and support networks

⚠️ Trigger Warning

This workshop covers heavy topics including boundaries being crossed, abuse, and uncomfortable social or dating situations. It may be triggering for young people with a history of trauma. While the content can be challenging, it is presented in a safe, supportive, and empowering way, giving participants the knowledge and skills to protect themselves and seek help.
