The closing date for this event has been extended by one day so you now have until 11pm on Monday 23rd December.
Get 2025 off to an active start!
There will be two course options
Short Yellow standard - roughly 2 km start times 10:30 - 11:15
This course is suitable for juniors, families and beginners. The check points will be located close to paths - so expect to go short distances off path across rough ground.
PLEASE NOTE This course will only be part of the event if there are people wishing to tackle it. If there are no pre entries there will be no Short course available on the day.
Score course. This course is for orienteers who are confident navigating at Light Green / technical difficulty standard 4 and above.
If you take part in this course expect to go off path across rough ground for significant parts of the course .
Score courses are a wee bit different from our usual courses. The challenge is to find as many check points as you can in any order AND return to the finish within the time limit. You will have 50 minutes to do this but don't be late as points will be deducted from your score! 1 point will be removed for each 6 seconds over the limit.
The start will be roughly 700m from the car park. There will be a mass start - walk to the start location will commence at 10:45 from the west end of the car park. The mass start will occur once all competitors have assembled at the start.
You can see the rough location of the sawmill on this link http://streetmap.co.uk/map?X=294956&Y=571160&A=Y&Z=115
We believe that the long wooden bridge below the car park which leads across to the sawmill is still closed so please factor in an extra 5 mins or so to walk from the car park to the sawmill.
Juniors wishing to run solo on the full knoll bagging course need to be comfortable at Light Green standard - other juniors who are not comfortable at this standard should either be accompanied by a parent or tackle the yellow course.
Parking will be in the usual car park - you can see the location on this link http://streetmap.co.uk/map?X=295029&Y=570975&A=Y&Z=115
Entries are now open. If you would like to take part please fill in the entry form on the following link. https://forms.gle/P3xvgGtE5eNyZVG27
