COVID Protocols: Proper masking (N95, KN95, or Surgical mask maintaining coverage of the nose and mouth) as determined by the instructor is required. As this is a private event, this is non-negotiable.
Class Description:
By taking a practical look at how knives are used in the culinary arts we will explore how this changes acting intention and choice in a knife fight.
About the Instructor:
Jason Speicher has been choreographing and performing stage combat in central Ohio for the last 25 years and is thrilled to make his debut at Lancaster Playhouse. As an Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors Jason has taught at the Winter Wonderland, Cease and Desist, and Virginia Beach Bash regional workshops. Jason was the fight choreographer in residence at Actor’s Theatre of Columbus from 2002 to 2020 amongst the shows he worked on were King Lear, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, The Three Musketeers, Treasure Island, and Dangerous Liaisons. Outside of Actor’s Theatre, Jason has choreographed Ohio State University’s productions of Twelfth Night, A Curious Incident of a Dog in the Nighttime, and A Midsummers Night’ Dream, Ohio Wesleyan’s production of She Kills Monsters, and has even traveled to Florence, Italy to choreography FESTA’s production Romeo and Juliet. He’d like to thank P.J. for the opportunity to choreograph the fights for this production of The Three Musketeers, his fight captain Shelly for taking on such a monument task, the fighters for performing his work, and to his wife Carolyn for always having his back.
