Long northern winters demand cozy mittens! Thrummed mittens combine the warmth of traditional wool mittens with the extra insulation of wool fleece. A clever insertion technique ensures that thrums are securely locked in place inside the mittens.Learn skills including the basic techniques of mitten construction and preparation/insertion of fleece thrums. All skills are demonstrated and taught during the class. Homework is required between sessions.
Instructor: Cynthia Levy
Prerequisites: Basic knitting skills including proficiency in casting on, knit and purl, and working in the round. Not suitable for beginners. Age 16 or older.
Cost: $142 (includes yarn)
Class runs from October 30 to November 27 for 3 sessions.
