This year, between Micro-Volunteering Day (15 April) and World Wide Knit in Public Day (8 June), you are invited to join with us and Knit with Purpose, to make peggy square blankets for organisations in need.Microvolunteering is something you can do from anywhere, it can take as little as five minutes, and there is no sign up process!
This is a project for the young and young at heart, the knitting newbies and the seasoned pros. All completed blankets will be donated to our local community organisations to be put to good use.
How can you get involved?
• knit a peggy square – as many or as few as you like!
• Knit a whole peggy square blanket!
• Sew donated peggy squares together into blankets
• Donate wool and needles for others to knit with
Completed, sewn-together squares can be dropped off prior to World Wide Knit in Public Day, at Christchurch Community House, during normal business hours.
Or, join us on World Wide Knit in Public Day, when we will come together to finish as many peggy square blankets as we can muster! All completed blankets will then be donated to those in need in our community through local organisations.
