Knights in Battle re-enactment group will be taking over Bishops' House. Meet household staff, men at arms, Lords and Ladies and discover what life was like in the 15th Century. The Knights will also be demonstrating their combat skills throughout the day. This is a free event but donations are welcome.ABOUT THE DAY
Let us take you back to the 1480s. England is in turmoil with civil war raging. The Wars of the Roses has been tearing families and communities apart for nearly 30 years. Sir John Howard, a loyal supporter of the Yorkist cause, is touring the country on the King’s behalf.
Come and see the members of his retinue as they go about their daily lives in the household of one of the wealthiest families in England. Meet the humblest members to the wealthiest - from a lowly squire to Lady Howard - who will be happy to show you and let you handle the "tools of their trade".
