About this Event
Knight at the Strange Space (Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival)
Workshop with artist Will Knight exploring how drawing can be used to study spaces, identify opportunities, and potentially unlock new ideas.
Runs from 11:00 to 17:00 (with a 1-hour lunch break at 13:00 and smaller breaks in between). All drawing materials will be provided. Age 16+ years.
Drawing is a valuable tool for designers to explore and communicate their ideas. It can help us to study spaces in detail, identify issues/ opportunities, and unlock ideas for possible alternatives.
Artist Will Knight uses architectural drawing techniques to study the character of spaces and how they shape our lives. He has worked on a varied range of projects, including The Knight Map, commissioned by Glasgow City Heritage Trust to update Thomas Sulman’s aerial map of Glasgow, dating from 1864. He is currently working on the As-Builts project, which explores documenting the current transformation of The Pipe Factory building through a variety of different media and artists.
