KNIGHT$ is the project of singer, frontman and songwriter James Knights, also known as one half of the synthpop duo Boytronic. Inspired by gloomy discotheques and futuristic soundscapes, KNIGHT$ inspires audiences worldwide that move between gothic, hi-NRG and synthpop. His energetic live shows are loud, chaotic and rousing – often the performance ends with a jump from the stage into the audience. Fans jokingly christened him "disco ramp pig", a mirror of his electrifying stage presence.Since the debut album "Dollars & Cents", KNIGHT$ has toured Europe and South America, supporting Drab Majesty, Peter Heppner and She Hates Emotions, among others. Appearances at Standon Calling UK, Infest UK and a headlining concert at the legendary Patrick Miller Nightclub in Mexico City made him a live insider tip. In 2024, KNIGHT$ concluded the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig with an anniversary show for the album.
"Dollars & Cents," produced with Martin Dubka and Italoconnection, includes highlights such as the Boytronic duet "Proving A Point," the playful "Gelato," and the fan-favorite "Hijack My Heart." The album celebrated success throughout Europe, with chart positions in Germany and Italy. In 2024, the song "Julia" was used in the Italian short film Che Ore Sono. New songs such as "Nightmares" and "Supernatural Lover" were recently presented live.
