BIO:
ONLY NOW is the alias of Indo-Californian producer Kush Arora. Fusing deconstructed Punjabi music with industrial, dancehall, and noise, Only Now is an unbridled expression of Arora’s eclectic influences, his Indian heritage, and his long-standing activity within the Bay Area underground since the 90’s. A project that takes experimental electronics, Soundsystem music and traditional Indian music somewhere they’ve never been before, Only Now summons an exceptional, unparalleled sound world. As Only Now and under his own name, Kush Arora has released a string of acclaimed self-released projects alongside output on Bokeh Versions, Infinite Machine, Discrepant, Polaar, Dutty Artz and Tash LC’s Club Yeke label. Arora’s work has been featured on the BBC, The Wire, Quietus, Guardian, Fact, Resident Advisor, and Bandcamp. Arora has also collaborated with artists across a wide musical spectrum, including legendary metal drummer Igor Cavalera (Sepultura), Kampala MC Ratigan Era (Nyege Nyege Tapes imprint Hakuna Kulala), French DJ / producer Flore (Polaar), metal guitarist Peter Arensdorf (Beneath The Ruins / King Woman), Jordanian DJ/producer Toumba as well as dancehall veteran Gappy Ranks. Landmark live performances include appearances alongside influential Hard Wax founder & producer Moritz Von Oswald (Rhythm & Sound), the experimental noise duo Duma (ft. Lord Spikeheart), Manchester-based electronic musician Andy Stott (Modern Love) and Congo-based experimental collective Kokoko!

MEDIA:
“A hybrid approach to Hindustani classical music that uses drone, noise & doom metal to dramatic effect, [setting] a high bar for the industrial underground” - RA Recommends, Resident Advisor
“Vast, serrated drone with rapid-fire rhythmic precision. Incorporating traditional Hindustani instruments to warped & often brutal ends, a sojourn through realms ceremonial & scathing, offering sonic glimpses of rhythmic universes beyond” - The Wire
“Ferociously modernist & complex sound design without losing soundsystem immediacy” - Bandcamp Daily
KAVADI
காவடி (pronounced Kavadi) explores the soundscapes of the Tamil diaspora depicting one’s personal and collective memories in order to elevate transgenerational entanglements of faith, displacement, escape and battle. The காவடி is a Dravidian ritual rooted in Tamil ancient culture, where a call for assistance from the deity Murugan is implored. During this transcendental wandering the devotees carry a physical burden which emphasizes debt bondage, usually on behalf of loved ones or for balancing a spiritual debt. The burden contains field recordings from the North and Northeastern parts of Ilangkai/Eelam (Sri Lanka) layered alongside various sound elements traditionally used in temples and clubs.

காவடி was a cloud:exit talent and performed at Insomnia festival in 2021, and Klubb Tarab have ever since that performance been waiting for the day we could host a live performance by this legend. You definitely do not want to miss out on this!
Moss b2b Tarab will warm up and close the evening with spicy percussive bass tunes 🔥
