Become a Literacy Volunteer and Change Lives! We need more volunteer tutors now! Enthusiastic individuals are needed to tutor immigrants, refugees and life-long Americans in reading, writing and English. Help students achieve life’s necessities like completing job applications, helping their children with homework or understanding medicine labels. With many different tutoring options available you're sure to find one that fits your schedule! No experience is necessary--you do not need to be a teacher or speak another language. Being a tutor doesn’t take much time, is easy to learn how to do and is fun! This Information Meeting gives an overview of what a tutor does. It's a great chance to come learn more about the Literacy Council and ask questions. If you choose to continue, two training sessions and online modules teach you about adult learning styles, KLC curriculums and adult teaching methods. You also get to practice with a seasoned tutor.
