Unfortunately, Ravyn of Sister Raven is no longer able to perform at this Showcase. Her musical partner, Erin Barker, will take over performance duties for the second half of the evening as a solo act.
LONNIE LEVELLE:
Originally from the Midwest, Lonnie LeVelle was introduced to music through his mother, Judi LaVelle. Judi was a signed Western News Records artist who toured with the likes of Ernest Tubb. After a stint in the US Navy as a nuclear submarine torpedo tech, LeVelle began a Carpenter’s Union career. It was during this time that Lonnie’s musical genes took root, and he began tinkering with songwriting. The creative endeavor eventually led to a publishing deal with BBR/Magic Mustang Music in Nashville as a staff songwriter. LeVelle’s Nashville experiences, and the desire to supplement songwriting, saw Lonnie adding professional tour bus driver to his resume. Just a few of the artists he drove for include: Chris Stapleton, Marty Stuart, Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker, and rock bands Sevendust and Everclear.
Now a resident of Southern Oregon, fans of country and bluegrass music may be familiar with a few of Lonnie’s tunes. His “Wreckin’ the Train” was a bluegrass chart topper performed by IBMA nominated 2009 female vocalist of the year, Alecia Nugent. Mark Newton and Steve Thomas performed “The Key.” Recently, country artist Casey Chesnutt climbed the charts with one of LeVelle’s co-writes, “Even Texas Couldn’t Hold Her.”
ERIN BARKER:
Having written original songs since the age of eight, Erin believes music has the power to reach places ordinary words cannot. “I write about things I think we need to talk about. It is my way of making sense of this crazy world,” Erin shares. With music crossing genre styles ranging from singer-songwriter to folk to rock and more, Erin is a prolific figure in the Klamath Falls music scene. Aside from solo work, Erin was a member of the wildly popular act, Mother Crow Sister Raven, and is currently one half of the duet, Barker Kerns, and co-vocalist and co-guitarist of the rock act, King of Denial.
