The Klamath Music Showcase Series is a musical performance series featuring local, regional, and traveling talent. FREE Admission. All ages welcome. 6pm: Arlo
7pm: The Climbing Boys
ARLO:
With music as his religion, Arlo is somewhat of a fictional character…an alter ego…a caricature of a happy-go-lucky life explorer, free of the responsibilities and obligations of a modern family man. Hailing from the mountain ranching towns of Montana, Arlo is the easy-goin’, guitar strummin’, part-time singin’ cowboy with tunes telling tales of travel, adventure, and longing for home and companionship.
THE CLIMBING BOYS:
Taking their name from child chimney sweeps who used to climb inside and clean chimney flues prior to the invention of modern tools, The Climbing Boys are: Tom Franks on vocal and acoustic guitar, Aaron Miller on electric guitar, and Jim Gillam (a former chimney sweep) on harmonica. Tom Franks was raised in a musical culture in Hawaii and in a musical family (his mom is a classically trained organist). Tom started by playing the ukulele, then moved to organ and other instruments including guitar. He has written numerous songs covering a wide variety of topics. Aaron Miller has performed as a solo acoustic act at many local events and locations, though recently unveiled The Aaron Miller Band, a scorching hot electric trio. He is an active collaborator, working in many different projects that include talented local musicians. Jim Gillam has played around the Klamath Basin for many years as a solo performer and with artists including: Aaron, Trisha Daniel, Joan Daley, Kirk Ortiz, High Desert Sun, and The Old Time Fiddlers. Jim is an accomplished accompanist on harmonica, playing a variety of genres with distinctive style.
