Hola Kiz Fam!Through much observations within our community wanting to/or assisting in teaching classes and workshops for Kizomba and adjacent styles, we thought this would be a good time to offer some official teacher training to those wanting to do so.
What we will offer is something that can and will be beneficial in making sure you’re fully prepared and knowledgeable about teaching and running your own Kizomba classes.
Below is the overall structure of the day;
- [ ] Introduction of a teachers role.
- [ ] Side roles (organiser & Deejays).
- [ ] History/Culture of Kizomba.
- [ ] Common genres of music.
- [ ] Common & popular dance styles.
- [ ] Differences of positions/postures.
Lunch Break
- [ ] Fundamentals of Kizomba - Teaching syllabus
- [ ] Foundations within other dance styles.
- [ ] Base musicality.
- [ ] Building a class structure.
- [ ] Teaching a group setting.
- [ ] Teaching/Organiser/media advice.
Essentially this training would be a breakdown of what we use for our foundational classes, discussing history/culture, music genres/theory. Understanding the different kizomba/adjacent styles, how the foundations of Kizomba fit into those styles and how to teach using our full foundation syllabus.
This is for people who want to teach or already teaching/assisting on a basic/improver level or brush up on their knowledge. However anyone can join in any level to get even more information about Kizomba as a whole. We will even run through Q&A and advice in general promoting, preparing classes and events.
By the end we will give our certification of acknowledgement to those truly ready to teach and support those starting out in anyway we can whilst making sure you have the confidence to prosper in this industry.
Booking is essential (minimum of 4 participants to run)
