Cesar is not a busy body on social media, so if you have not heard of him, don't be fooled! He brings WEALTH of dance/music/culture knowledge, so you don't want to miss this weekend!
Cesar Wilson hails from Angola where he was surrounded by dance and music at a very young age. He grew up with Semba music, Plenas, GV’s, Afro Mambo, Soukous, Rebitas, and later Kizomba when it came to be in the 80s. Like most Angolans, Cesar instantly fell in love with it, never failing to dance at all family parties, weddings, birthdays.
When Cesar moved to the USA Midwest later on to perfect his English and go to university, he first found the salsa community as an outlet for dance. He eventually found the way back to his native Semba and Kizomba. He began teaching the dance to friends, family, and local instructors. Now he and his dance partner of 8 years Isabelle Papoulias, teach classes in Chicago and a few cities across America. Their dance centers on maintaining a close body connection, rhythmic footwork, and body movement and is most of all anchored on simplicity.
