Get Your Ducks in a Row for the Kiwanis Club of Lapeer’s 7th Annual Rubber Duck Dash!Have you heard what everyone is quacking about? We will be hosting this year's Rubber Duck Dash on September 13, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event takese place at Cramton Park in Lapeer with games and activities starting at 11am and the rubber ducks being launched for the race at 2:00 p.m.
The Rubber Duck Dash itself features thousands of “adopted” rubber ducks being dropped into Farmers Creek in a “dash” to the finish line. The ducks will be dropped into the river from the Kiwanis-sponsored pedestrian bridge at Cramton Park. The river will carry the ducks approximately 100 yards to the finishing chute.
You can adopt a duck (or several), for just $5 each, essentially buying a raffle ticket as each rubber duck has a number corresponding to each adoption certificate (raffle ticket). You never actually touch or handle your duck - Kiwanis keeps those safe. Just retain your ticket stub(s) with your duck number(s). Adopt your ducks and come watch to see if yours is fast enough to make it through the chute first to win the $1,000 cash prize. The second duck through the chute wins $500, and so on until all prizes have been awarded. Over $3,000 in prizes will be awarded. Ducks can be adopted from any Kiwanis Club of Lapeer member, by mail or from various local businesses. Visit our website at www.kiwanislapeer.org for more details on duck adoptions.
You do not need to be present to win the Rubber Duck Dash, but watching this great event will be loads of fun especially with all of the other fun activities for children and adults happening throughout the day. There will also be carnival-type games and activities, inflatables, a petting zoo, face painting, balloon twisting, crafts, 50/50 drawings, raffles, and more. Some of these activities will be free of charge for children. Also on site will be Kona Ice of Lapeer, Blend Frozen Yogurt, food trucks and more!
