The Fredericksburg SPCA is kicking off its first Kitten Training of the year on April 5 at noon in our community room! Led by our Foster Coordinator, Kathleen Daley-Becker, this session will cover everything from what to do if you find kittens, to how to care for kittens aged 0-8 weeks. We'll also dive into common illnesses and concerns that kittens face at this vulnerable stage. This free training is perfect for ANYONE interested in learning more about kitten care and how to get involved. The session is free and open to all members of the public & other shelters/rescues. Plus, it’s a fantastic opportunity for kids to gain confidence in handling kittens. Don’t miss out, come join us and become a confident kitten caregiver!
We are grateful to the Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region's Aune Sturdy Animal Protection Fund for awarding us a grant to kick off kitten season strong, allowing us to purchase critical supplies and offer training to our community! Since kittens often do better in pairs, the grant covers the second adoption fee, making it a "Adopt One, Get One Fee-Waived" adoption deal for pairs!
