Trinity Presbyterian Church of Atlanta will host acclaimed New York Times bestselling author Anne Lamott on Thursday October 24 2024 at 7 pm with a book signing to follow.  Trinity’s Rosemary Kittrell Memorial Lectureship Fund which brings prominent thinkers and theologians to examine faith's role in the world is sponsoring the event.  The annual event is free and open to the public.  Advance tickets must be reserved beginning September 16 at Eventbrite.

Lamott’s lecture will chronicle thoughts and lessons from her 2024 #1 New York Times bestseller Somehow: Thoughts on Love.   In her twentieth book Lamott delves into the transformative power of love in our lives: how it surprises us forces us to confront uncomfortable truths reminds us of our humanity and guides us forward.  Known for her candid and heartfelt communication of faith both in her books and in person Lamott consistently lifts comforts and inspires her readers and audiences while keeping them laughing.

“For decades Anne Lamott’s personal raw beautiful words have moved and helped readers. She gives vocabulary to what people of all ages feel as we journey through life and her latest focus on love comes at just the right time. Trinity is delighted to welcome the community as we learn from Anne Lamott together” said Rev. Rebekah Close LeMon senior pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church. A Question-and-Answer session moderated by Rev. LeMon will follow the lecture.

Lamott is the author of 20 books including New York Times bestsellers Hallelujah Anyway; Help Thanks Wow; and Dust Night Dawn. She has been honored with a Guggenheim Fellowship and has taught at UC Davis.  Lamott is an inductee to the California Hall of Fame and a columnist in the Washington Post.
