Lithography is a printmaking process that can replicate a drawing almost exactly, using some simple chemistry and oil and water to create prints. This course focuses on teaching a safer form of lithography that can be done at home. In kitchen sink lithography, the usual acid is replaced with soda and the stone is replaced with aluminum foil. In this class, you will learn to draw with lithographic crayons, learn about the simple chemical process of etching your drawing, and learn to hand-pull your prints using thin, Eastern paper. This process is designed to teach you a printmaking method you can do safely at home. All levels of printmakers are welcome, and no experience is necessary.
