Join us as Kismet presents an hour of music from KC's singer-songwriter D. Pound. $5 suggested donation at the door.D. Pound first became known as Danny Pound, singer and guitarist of '90s indie band Vitreous Humor, a band he started with his friends in 1988 as junior high students in Topeka, Kansas. Vitreous met with early success, signing with Santa Monica, California indie label Crank! in 1993 and issuing the label's first record, the "Harbor" 7" in '93. The band was pursued by the hounds of the corporate music biz thereafter until its demise in early 1996. Six months later he formed from the ashes of VH The Regrets, who issued a full-length LP, "New Directions: Results Beat Boasts", on Crank! The band dissolved in 1997.
D. formed a noise/folk band called Godammit & the Holy shits in 1999, which never issued any material (tho rumors are that tapes abound, waiting to be released into the wild) and disbanded in 2000. Thereafter D. formed the Danny Pound Band, with members of VH and the seminal Lawrence, Kansas band Zoom, in 2001. The band issued one album, "Surer Days", performed locally in Lawrence, KC, Omaha, and somewhere in Wisconsin until fading away by 2014. D. issued several albums worth of material over the next several years, all of which can be found on https://dannypound.bandcamp.com/music. He currently is recording and writing and performing solo, touring as D. Pound.
