Kiruu is bringing his interactive-world-fusion solo show (south)West, playing his first gig in Cork city since `Culture night 2022.
About this Event

The Myo Café in Cork will provide the setting for Kiruu's first gig in two years in Cork City. He'll be singing some new and old songs, taking you on a wee trip through some different genres and languages. A Kiruu gig is an experience that will leave you feeling warm and groovy.

The fee for the gig is a voluntary contribution (recommendation of at least a tenner.. but whatever you feel is deserved). This is also payable on the night!

Bio: Kiruu is a singer/guitarist/pianist whose music combines influences from his mixed cultural background of Ireland, the Mediterranean, and East Africa. He released his album "Super Feo Express" in 2019, and the Equinox music video in summer 2022, played the festival circuits j in n 2022 and 2023, and is currently finalising plans for a new EP of piano music and some exciting new collaborations.

Myo Café came to life in 2014. The passion-project of owner Liam Mullaney, Myo cafe was born from an intuitive process of creation, design, and community building.
When Liam first discovered the building, it was an old junk shop. Although at the time Liam had no intentions of starting a business, something about this place drew him in. Soon, through passing chats with locals, the building’s history unfolded – once a home, then a pub, a general store, a sweetshop, and finally a junk shop, for many years this wee corner house had been a central point of the local community – a place to meet and catch up and share news…Liam wondered – could it be such a place again?
And so he set about creating a space that could be a centre for community once more, welcoming those local to the area, and those from further afield! Each element of the space has been carefully designed and crafted to foster a welcoming and inspiring environment. Conscious of welcoming the growing international communities in Ireland, the cafe incorporates elements from around the world. It is a multi-denominational, culturally accepting place. Whoever you are and wherever you’ve been, you are welcome here.
