Intention & Purpose: People sing for many reasons – as a devotional song circle/ kirtan, the intention or invitation offered is to transcend our limited identities through collective song, merging our voices to honor the divine within each of us. This is a non-denominational group, and songs from all spiritual traditions are welcome.
Invitation: bring a song to share that's sacred or spiritual to you. We want to make sure all the songs presented are group ready, so if you have a song you would like to share, please speak to whoever is the curator that week beforehand. We may ask that you run through the song with us to work out any rough edges and prepare it for the group, so please allow enough time for that.
Intention: A space and time for people of different (or undefined) paths to share in song and community together.
We have: harmoniums, shakers, cajon, hand bells, simple call and response Kirtan bhajans (songs) to share, shared altar space.
Bring what you have: Ears to hear, voices to sing, hands to clap, feet to dance, hearts to feel, and/or souls to connect... All are valuable contributions.
Also useful if you have them: instruments, altar item (of personal significance), floor cushion or blanket.
On Social Etiquette: Those who wish to stay and socialize following Kirtan will be responsible for maintaining their own boundaries and emotional safety. Please be kind and respectful, the facilitators will not be monitoring individual conversations. If you have an issue with how someone is addressing you, please seek resolution with them directly.

(COVID 19 Alert– We are currently gathering indoors at a private residence. While COVID 19 remains an issue, we encourage social distancing and mask wearing if you are unvaccinated or feel it prudent to do so. Currently the group is small but if it becomes larger, we will look at multiple timings so as to keep the size down. PLEASE do not consider attending if you feel unwell or have any symptoms of COVID)
